Andrew is 11 years old and in 5th grade. Andrew loves animals, dinosaurs and reading. He is also learning to play the guitar and enjoys the drums. Andrew is 11 years old and in 5th grade. Andrew loves animals, dinosaurs and reading. He is also learning to play the guitar and enjoys the drums. When it comes time for treatments and blood draws, he is the bravest I have seen. Last year he was diagnosed with a rare gene mutation which causes his autism as well as his end stage renal disease. His kidneys quickly fell to 10 percent function and he was put on home dialysis. Last month his tests were showing too much protein in his urine so they removed his left kidney. We also visited the orthopedic doctor to find out that his growth plate are being affected which will lead to more small surgeries to correct. The longer he is on dialysis the more issues can arise. It is not a permanent solution. Our family has show not to be the best match so we are now reaching out to the community to help save our little warrior.
